A Wirral-based catering, cleaning and facilities management company is celebrating a milestone after hitting £12.5m in turnover.

Midshire Signature Services was acquired by managing director Sue Bradwell ten years ago and has since doubled its turnover and grown its workforce by 60 percent.

She joined the company to prepare it for sale, but instead decided to buy it with her husband Phil Bradwell.

It now employs 350 people across 65 sites.

Technology investment has been central to the company’s growth strategy.

Sue Bradwell said: ‘The business was built on solid foundations, but we knew we needed to modernise and invest in technology while respecting what had been built. The business had real potential, it just needed the right systems and fresh energy to unlock the next phase of growth.’

‘I wanted to stay true to our independent, family-owned approach. Every catering solution we offer is bespoke and site specific, whether a business needs full-service catering or a hybrid setup, we build it around what actually works for them. Fresh food made on site by skilled chefs, who are employed by us, remains our priority, with innovation and sustainability baked into how operate. Our whole ethos is based on being small enough to care, but big enough to feed thousands of people every day.’

She added: ‘I am really proud of the growth we’ve seen over the last 10 years. Our team remains dedicated to our values, they are passionate about food and good service, and they really believe in what we do.

‘The industry is still quite male-dominated, but it’s improved dramatically. I think it’s a fabulous time to be a female leader and we need to continue to champion and celebrate female leadership and entrepreneurs.’
